I still remember all the excuses people made for not voting for a woman president. ‘Too emotional’, ‘No one will respect’, etc etc. Here we are. Do America a favor and judge candidates - of all parties - on their preparedness, experience and leadership. Forget the gotcha /2
Moments, ignore gossip, vet your sources, look at the entirety of their life’s work, their current positions on issues, how they treat other people, how they look at the world, their empathy and humility to admit mistakes, their ability to listen and learn from others, their /3
courage, their principles, who they walk next to, who they look up to. Consider how much of your resistance or passion for a candidate comes from objective observations, and how much is bias or influence of others. The time for lazy, cavalier political choices is over. We can’t/4
afford another “let’s try an ‘outsider’ who knows nothing about politics, history, laws or decency”. No more celebrity cults, no more fuck-you votes. No more uninformed choices. No more excuses. Do your homework and know whom you’re voting for and why. Show up and stand. /5x
