Tonight there will be additional officers patrolling downtown Austin after @TxDPS received tips that people would try and disrupt the protests. DPS is working with @Austin_Police and the National Guard to make sure peaceful protests are not disrupted. @KVUE

Some armed demonstrators are near APD now. I’ve been told they will be walking alongside both the March to Amplify Black Voices at UT and the protest starting at the Garrett Foster memorial at 4th/Congress. Photos from @Third3y3Club. @KVUE

There are now armed protesters along Congress Ave leaving the Garrett Foster memorial. Foster was carrying an “AK-47 type weapon” when he was killed during a protest last weekend. Daniel Perry said Foster pointed his rifle at him. Perry fired his handgun killing Foster. @KVUE

Demonstrators and somebody driving an InfoWars truck got into a short war of words as the truck passed.

Demonstrators out here at the Foster memorial calling for justice against Daniel Perry.

Here’s some other signs up at the Garrett Foster memorial. Austin PD driving by calling for them to stay off the roadway and to not block the crosswalk with the signs. @KVUE

Here’s a closer look at the people at the Garrett Foster memorial.

Bike officers from @Austin_Police arrived to make sure demonstrators complied with their calls to clear the crosswalk. Officers took some people into custody and are now riding sesy. @KVUE

Officers are taking this woman in custody after she threw two handful of pebbles at officers as they rode away. For an unknown reason they also took two people into custody as well. @KVUE

Officers are now leaving the scene of the Foster memorial.

Here are some of the flyers on the ground at the memorial for Garrett Foster. Whitney Mitchell, Foster’s fiancée, will not be out protesting tonight according to her mom. @KVUE

Just talked to a couple of protesters saying the response from police was NOT justified. They say people should not be arrested and/or pepper sprayed for blocking the sidewalk with a sign and pedestrians were able to walk around if needed and that the signs were moving anyway.

These armed people are set up across the street from the Garrett Foster memorial. Their leader tells me they’re here to protect everyone and he would love to see a peaceful protest walk down the street. They’re here to make sure nobody disrupts peaceful protesting. @KVUE

Congress Ave is blocked off by APD right now. @KVUE

The roadway is reopening as law enforcement blocks off the sidewalks so people don’t walk in the middle of the street. @KVUE

The demonstrators started marching north on Congress toward the Capitol but APD stopped some of the crowd from continuing as soon as the light at Congress/5th turned red. The march is continuing on capitol now.

Some protesters have returned to the memorial chanting “One solution, revolution!” APD did not interfere as the marchers walked across the crosswalk despite the red light.

More bicycle police have arrived on Congress to join a @TravisCoSheriff bus that had APD and DPS officers on it per @Bryce_Newberry. 4th/Congress has reopened to traffic as demonstrators have marched elsewhere. @KVUE

Mounted and pedestrian officers from @Austin_Police and officers from @TxDPS have cleared out the roadways here outside APD HQ. Protesters are limited to the parking lot under 35 and the sidewalks. @KVUE

A vast majority of the officers are moving off the street now. Protesters have stayed on the sidewalk for the most part. @KVUE
