It’s easy to say “your sins are forgiven, you are now born again.”
This is because people can see the works of sin, but no one can see sin itself. We can see the fruits of righteousness— but cannot see righteousness itself.
But to say “rise up and walk” is more difficult. Because for everyone in that vicinity, the only actual proof that God’s ability thrives within you is for that lame person’s body to respond to your very words and rise up on their feet.
Bold face no be faith. Talk is cheap.
Therefore TO PROVE that we have the power of the all powerful God that we sing and dance and congregate about has power to forgive sins and turn lives around — we must show proof!
“Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said, “Why do you entertain evil thoughts in your hearts? Which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins...”
