We're thrilled to announce we've officially launched our new Canopy Hotline ☎️ (800-437-3071), a social services #hotline meant to provide support by connecting migrants with resources in their communities. #RootedInCommunity
Migrants who are awaiting their legal case’s decision, such as asylum seekers, have very limited resources available to them as they're not eligible for federal benefits, such as Medicaid.
This is where Canopy comes in.
We recognize that a holistic approach is extremely impactful to a migrant’s immigration case.
That's why the hotline will provide referrals to vetted agencies that share RAICES' values and guarantee safety for the population we serve.
Support will include:
Mental, medical, dental and reproductive health services, shelter, employment assistance, education services, food security, access to clothing, rental & utility assistance... among others.
Important: Canopy is a national social services hotline, with a current concentration on Texas based resources.
Its primary objective is to connect callers w/trusted, local service providers. It cannot provide legal advice nor assist in securing legal rep.
