If you think it is simple beans and stew to follow Jesus, then I'm sorry to break your heart, see, your flesh will not like it, your pride will not want it, coming to Jesus means you would have to drop a lot of weight at the foot of the cross.

You thought when Jesus asked us to "pray for our enemies" it was going to be easy? No dear. Let me show you how the message version puts it in Matthew 5:43-44😭😭

“You’re familiar with the old written law, ‘Love your friend,’ and its unwritten companion, ‘Hate your enemy.’ I’m challenging that.

I’m telling you to love your enemies. Let them bring out the best in you, not the worst. When someone gives you a hard time, respond with the energies of prayer, for then you are working out of your true selves, your God-created selves..."
