The irony of the US warning that the CCP might spy on you after @Snowden revealed the ACTUAL wholesale spying of the entire internet, and the endless scandals of US big tech giants doing the same, is... red?
It took the EU almost seven years for Snowden’s revelations to motivate the European Court of Justice’s ruling in the Schrems II case. Let’s hope Europeans don’t have to wait until 2027 for a response to this State department edict.
But back to the US proclamation. Calling countries that sign on to not allowing Chinese technology "Clean Countries" isn't so much a racist dog whistle as just a racist whistle. We're not far off Operation Pure White here.
