Om Prakash (O.P) Jindal is the founder of Jindal Group. He was born on August 7, 1930, in Haryana.
Drawn by machines at an early age, he assisted automobile repairing shops and volunteered to assist in repairing them. It always fascinated him to understand the working mechanism of machines.

1952 : Jindal started a small bucket manufacturing plant in Hisar,Haryana.
At that time even the ordinary pipes used in India were imported from England with “Made in England” tag on them.
He use to take scrap/rejected pipes from them and then convert them into new ones. But when that Co. came to know about it instead of giving big pipes they started giving 2ft small pipes to Jindals.
Instead of taking any tension he started making sockets. So now he use to attach those pipes with sockets.
But when that Co. came to knw about it, they now stopped the business with Jindals.
And that was the turning point for Jindals because now Mr.OP Jindal decided to produce the steel pipes in India itself and make India self reliant.
Unlike most of the entrepreneurs who only looked after the financial matters of his factories, he would actively involve in the technical discussions.
He kept on striving for the latest technology. He travelled extensively throughout the world in order to make sure that his industries don’t lag behind in technical innovations.
