Today’s #Yiakl #SundaySpotlight goes out to Yohannes Tseggay Berhe, the designer & webmaster of Snitna.com, for his pioneer work in creating a platform that accommodates all Eritreans to foster their unity & his strong sense of purpose to serve the Eritrean community
Snitna.com is an Eritrean hub with rich informative & entertaining content that was founded in 2013 whose aim is "to cultivate peace, harmony & reconciliation among all Eritreans, by involving Eritreans from different walks of society, without discrimination."
Yohannes joined the struggle for independence at a very young age when he was just 16 and was assigned to work at the front lines as a medical team member. During the 6th offensive, he got severely injured and was later assigned to work at Eritrea Relief Association (ERA).
After independence, against all the health challenges he was facing, Yohannes managed to excel in his academic and professional life. He got his Masters in Agricultural Development & a BA in Accounting and Finance.
Having worked in a number of Humanitarian relief organizations in Eritrea and the UK, he eventually moved to Information Technology where he currently uses this expertise to run a very proactive website and support different Eritrean media and social media outlets.
Yohannes co-operates with
✅ A number of media outlets, namely websites, main-stream TV services such as ATV, AlenaMedia-TV and ERISAT, by exchanging materials and posting;
✅Radio-stations in live-stream promotion, recording, video-editing & posting on Youtube, e.g., Radio Voice of Eritrea, Ngabae Broadcasting, Radio Saeyob, and Radio Aserna. Also keeps archives of past shows of the aforesaid;
✅Social-media outlets, namely Paltalk Rooms, Facebook Live-streamers and YouTubers. The service includes technical advice, live show recording, editing and production of videos for YouTube.
Yohannes plays a tremendous role in helping raise awareness of justice, human-rights, democracy, social, cultural, health and political issues, by collecting and collating relevant materials as well as by recording live-shows and seminars
He researches materials of public interest and pools the necessary links and documents in one post or place so as to help people look from various angles and help them make their own judgments. He also provides documentary archives to serve as resources for researchers.
Yohannes also runs a YouTube channel as an extension of the website. His channel has 100s of videos with a total view of 3,875,354.

Yohannes is also one of the founding campaigners of the “Eritrean Veterans Day” whose main objective is to acknowledge the services of Eritrean Veterans who put their lives to liberate & protect our country & to bring all ex-fighters together regardless of which Front (ELF/EPLF)
