Here’s the finished sketch. I feel that regularly practicing “automatic drawing” has greatly helped my ability to draw from imagination. Like my brain has been unblocked. Drawing is FUN! Goodnight!
Here's an Automatic Drawing that I did a few nights ago. Usually I use a "pencil" brush but I decided to go with a harder inking brush this time. I heartily recommend doing automatic drawings using unfamiliar brushes! It's a great way to get your toes wet!

My big takeaway from this Automatic Drawing session is that w/inks, as long as you're confident w/your strokes & build up enough contrast through stroke density, the image WILL come together. Don't worry too much about stroke consistency or "correct" lighting #ArtEaterAutoDrawing
Another bonus/warning bout Automatic Drawing: this shit is RIPE for psychoanalysis. I honestly didnt put any conscious thought into this piece, but it's very clearly about sexual frustration during the pandemic with a cicada (mouthless bug!) approaching a ossified vagina WTF DUDE
This memento mori is very on brand for me haha (I have a lot of night terrors brought on by extreme existential dread since childhood)
