Whoa!! Fortnite vs. Apple playing out right now!
Epic Games (the parent company of Fortnite) added a direct-purchase option in the iOS version of Fortnite for players to purchase V-Bucks — Fortnite’s in-game currency. This bypasses Apple’s App Store rules (where Apple 1/5
2/5 takes 30% of the revenue) and so, Apple removed Fortnite from the App Store!
Epic's reaction?
1. This parody of Apple's iconic 1984 Super Bowl ad, called Nineteen Eighty-Fortnite!
3/5 How the ad looks as it was played inside Fortnite, at the big screen on the Party Royale island.

2. A #FreeFortnite website explaining its stand: bit.ly/3iFcs58

3. A civil antitrust lawsuit against Apple, filed in the US District Court for the Northern District of California, seeking to establish Apple’s App Store as a monopoly, and seeking injunctive relief to “allow fair competition” in mobile app distribution!
