As someone who came up through local government, I know how important it is to have bold, forward-thinking leaders fighting for change at the local level.

Today I'm proud to endorse our first slate of People First local candidates from across the country. Take a look!

Throughout my travels in Iowa, I saw @wanasattia's passion and dedication for rural communities. She's a champion for the underserved, and as a state representative she'll keep fighting for better health care, quality education, a clean environment, and good jobs for all Iowans.

As the youngest mayor in Nevada, @DanielCoronaNV has been a relentless advocate for rural communities. He's worked to diversify the economy, create jobs in budding industries such as cannabis sales, and revitalize downtown West Wendover. I'm proud to endorse him for re-election.

.@davemandelkern knows that accessible, high-quality education is critical to the American Dream. As a member of the Community College Board of San Mateo County, Dave has helped tens of thousands to realize that dream--and I couldn't be prouder to endorse him.

.@jlorganista has spent more than a decade fighting for social justice and for equitable education. He attended the public schools of Salt Lake City, became an educator, a community leader, and has a strong vision for the possibilities that education brings.

Having grown up in the heart of Wilmington's 1st district, @CobyJOwens understands the challenges his community faces and has the vision to help more families succeed. I'm proud to support Coby's campaign for city council because he's not waiting for change.

As a candidate for city council, @wendystolyarov is putting the needs of working families first. She knows housing is a human right and a good-paying job is critical to prosperity. I'm proud to endorse her campaign and look forward to seeing her leadership in the Silver State.

More than ever, communities like Oakland need bold leadership that matches big problems with big solutions. I’m proud to endorse @stephforoakland because she’s a leader who listens, collaborates, and will work tirelessly to tackle tough issues.
