Hey everyone,

I'll be live-tweeting for the @DailyEmerald tonight from Washburne Park in #EugeneOregon for BIPOC Liberation Collective's vigil starting at 7:30 p.m.

There are about 30 people here spread about the grass.

It's quiet and there isn't much to report on, sorry folks.

A speaker just said that the group would appreciate if people who are not Indigenous to not bring and burn sage as it's cultural appropriation.

The event is starting with a speaker talking about people killed at the hands of police.

Now speaking about Tatiana (sp?) Hall from Philadelphia.

The speaker says that not much is known about her case because of "likely deadnaming"

After each person is spoken about, the group goes into a chant: "say their name, [insert name]"

The event sounds to be wrapping up.

Oops, I never closed my thread.
