#This thread is a testimony of how gunmen "stood still" when I ran into them.

It's a testimony of God's faithfulness.
1.
It's a testimony of God at work in my life.
This scripture came alive....

Exodus 15:16 KJV
Fear and dread shall fall upon them; by the greatness of thine arm they shall be as still as a stone; till thy people pass over, O Lord, till the people pass over, which thou hast purchased.

Yes, the gun men stood still until I passed over.

It was a bright

Saturday morning and I was to the ancient town of Oyo in present day Oyo State, South West Nigeria. It was around 10am and I was in company of my sister. We were on our way to a friends engagement ceremony

4.
We got talking on the way and obviously oblivious to what was going on around us. A few kilometers to our destination, I noticed our car was the only car on the express way , but, that was no big deal I felt.

Suddenly, a bad portion of the road was well ahead of us and I was

5.
Forced to slow down. While I was stretching my neck to spot a good part of the bad part of the road to slowly navigate my car, 4 hoodlums jumped out of the nearby bush and pounced on my car. They had with them machetes, AK 47 assault rifles, charms etc...by the way, attending

6.
A military school helped me to differentiate a toy gun from the real deal. What these guys were armed meat were real guns that had been corked with finger on the trigger.

They told me to roll them my side windshield to which I obliged

7.
I greeted them in a composed manner and asked boldly, "can I help you?" and the next thing that happened stunned my sister and I.

They all dripped their guns and machetes and prostrated saying, "kabiyesi O" (who can question you?)

8.
At first, I was a bit confused knowing fully well I wasn't carrying a king in the rear of my car. At that moment, I did not realize they were bowing to the unquestionable God in me. The Bible said in 1 John 4:4b KJV... greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world

9.
And it was then I knew they were bowing to the greater one in me. Hallelujah.

Well, if you think that was great, a greater thing happened on my way back.

10.
We drove off unscathed and got to our destination. We had fun at the wedding, infact, too much fun that we forgot about the incident earlier. By 2pm, I was now heading back to Ibadan through the same route and to be honest, we had forgotten about the incident

11.
On approaching the same same spot where we encountered those hoodlums earlier in the day, our brains had a reset and the incident flashed back. As we were discussing the incident very close to the same bad portion of the road, those same guys suddenly emerged from the bush

12
And ordered us to stop, I did and rolled down my side windshield even before they asked me to. This time around, what they said really amazed me.

The one I suspected was d leader drew close and said, "Kabiyesi, we have been waiting all day for u to drive past before we begin

Our robbery operations...you can go sir"
Those were his exact words.

For a moment, I was dazed as to how God can come through for His own.
I am a speed racer naturally, but, after this encounter, I could not throttle beyond 80km/hr till I got back to Ibadan.

14.
I was just thanking God for the rest of the journey.

It was a day I will never forget.
God indeed protects His own.

When we draw close to Him, He draws close to us.

Glory to His name. Hallelujah
