Most following here are prob aware of news about UNC shutting down in-person undergrad classes due to a bunch of CoV clusters among students.
I can't help but wonder why this wasn't fully anticipated & why stronger measure weren't enacted to prevent.

On-campus planning, rules & mitigation won't prevent students getting & spreading CoV infections if they engage in known, risky behavior off-campus.
As a parent of 3 college/grad students I accept one can only ask & expect so much, but I'm reminded of that "ass u me" saying.

Maybe universities are doing more direct communication of which I am unaware, but I think something more than a beige banner that links a page of "wash hands" suggestions might be required. I've clicked 3 & 4 levels deep on the USD site but could not find any plea for logic.

I guess I'm living in fantasyland to think if there was bigger, more flashy language imploring students not to drop off their anti-virus sense at the campus boundary, maybe they wouldn't.
Maybe it should NOT be assumed that young students are aware of "sequence of events".

It's pretty simple. If you don't want to get sent home in 2 weeks you can't go bar hopping tonight. You guys are smart (sort of) so figure out a way to get together, to connect/reconnect, to party - that doesn't involve SUPER SPREADER events.
We always hear of the problems, the failures of imagination, the bad outcomes. Maybe this whole going-back-to-school thing won't be as bad it is starting out to be. Maybe some will learn from the others.
