.@dire_nair's story on @MorningContext is a personal one. I grew up in Sonipat, a small town with Atlas as its crown jewel.

I studied in the school run by their trust, visited the opulent 'Atlas Mandir', and often played snooker at a club on Atlas Road.

Now known for many industries and international ventures, Olympians, and educational institutions... Atlas was the only thing Sonipat was known for at the time (apart from the world-famous dhabas at Murthal).

The family dispute dismantled the whole business. The story finally details what all happened, as @dire_nair reports from Sahibabad, the other Atlas manufacturing plant.

We've often heard things in Sonipat social circles, but this is a deep dive that's a must read.

And the story correctly reports what I said when the shutting of the manufacturing unit made the news.

It was not due to the pandemic as many wanted you to believe to make political punches around the economic crisis.

By the way, that's my school.

And that bust in the front lawn is of Jankidas Kapur. More in the story.

(And for nostalgia, a photo from 2001, from that same lawn. I'm the one not in uniform. 😁)
