Nice to see so many accounts based out of Saudi Arabia, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates amplifying calls for tighter restrictions on access to Canadian press galleries.
lol, they’re getting one retweet every ~2 mins or so from accounts with zero followers
They’re now up to 77 retweets.
By my count, only three of them are from real people.
Huh, it appears two long lost twins from Egypt have reunited thanks to their mutual interest in @CANADALAND and nerdy debates over access to Canadian press galleries.
They’re up to 100 retweets!
Alberta’s press gallery seems to be a topic near and dear to the hearts of people named “Mariam” or “Jasmine.”
The mystery deepens:
A completely separate tweet from @CANADALAND has suddenly been "liked" hundreds of times by Russian bots.
One of the bot accounts promotes a Russian-language website that offers a service called "cheat Twitter."
"Boosting Twitter Favorites is a great way to draw attention to your posts," the site says. "Your tweet will look much more solid with a few hundred or thousands of likes."
(To be clear, I have no idea what the meaning of all of this is. It's just... Weird.)
lol
I’m not sure CAJ needed to delete its tweet, but always good to see orgs being responsive:
