“While I’ll be a Democratic candidate, I’ll be an American President,” @JoeBiden says as he accepts his party’s nomination

“This is a life-changing election,” Biden says.

“You were a great President, a President our children could and did look up to,” Biden says of @BarackObama. But “no one is gonna say that about the current occupant of the White House.”

The word of the speech so far: “Dignity.” It’s been central to Biden’s view of politics for years, and a sentiment he worried was being lost four years ago.
