Definitely Borderline Personality Disorder, definitely!
She shows all the major symptoms of BPD.
Also, the events she spoke about wrt her childhood - perhaps the roots lie there [trauma]. Partly. Rest could be a mix of genetic [see sister for example], perinatal and environmental.
The other possibility,a low one,is Munchausen Syndrome. But if someone could do a deeper investigation, their first hypothesis, most likely, would be BPD. Looks a classic text-book case right there. Coupled with poor Self-Awrns. And there are co-morbidities too,as is often the case
Trouble is, those afflicted by #BPD also show 2 more signs:
1. Strong dogmatic superficially cognized views - delusionally dogmatic at that
2. Very poor acceptance of their own dysfunctionality/ condition.
Also, toughest to deal with, even for professionals, family and loved ones
And when i say "toughest to deal with",i mean absolutely the toughest. Professionals find conditions like Dep, Bipolar, Schiz, ADHD etc much more manageable. BPD is by far the toughest-for all concerned, including the person afflicted. The psyche as a skeleton with a hole......
Final professional insight on this : The few who agree to seek intervention [most don't], change psychiatrists and therapists at the speed of light. And play one against the other. Of course they are not aware the professionals are already aware of this tendency - it's #101 BPD!
And yes, science moves on the back of hypothesis, observation, measurement, evidence and validation. And replication [Psychology and Psychiatry are fields of science].
Besides a range of bio-markers, BPD has its own signature neural correlates too.
