There are many reasons why we should dismiss #JamesLindsay's antics. There's the presence of sexism above. Which he & fans will deny; he's just being randomly sarcastic, they'll likely say. There's the presence of racism in the examples below.
There's the fact that (a) his reaction to those who criticize or disagree with him is to whine, mock, and turn to sarcastic name-calling.
And (b) he co-wrote a book that alleges huge swathes of academic work are "cynical," but avoids the effort of providing evidence of cynicism.
There is very little that's consistent in #JamesLindsay's thinking and writing. It's a passionately felt swirl of dissonances.
One thing that's consistent, however, is Lindsay's conviction that he's right & very smart, righter & smarter than any of us.
The blocking while also whining that nobody will seriously talk back to him, it is a funny pattern.
