Productivity Thread #6:

Do you feel anxious on Sundays?

If so, you're not alone - around 50% of people do.

It's called the Sunday Scaries.

I'm here to help you beat them!

First, what are the Sunday Scaries?

They stem from "anticipatory anxiety".

Basically, the thought of going back to work or class on Monday stresses your brain out.

This can make it hard to enjoy your day.

Even worse, it makes you have a hard time falling asleep.

One way to beat them is to spread out your to-do list.

Do you leave your chores and tasks for the weekend?

You think you have time to get everything done...

But it rarely works out that way.

Saturday flies by, leaving your to-do list for Sunday.

Not only does this make your Sunday more stressful...

But you probably don't get everything done.

That makes you feel worse on Sunday night.

You feel guilty for not doing what you had planned to.

To relieve the pressure on yourself:

Spread out your tasks throughout the week.

This is one of the ways scheduling can be a big help.

If you're not planning out your time, you're playing life on hard mode.

Another way to beat the Sunday anxiety:

Take better care of yourself, especially on Saturday.

If you stay up late on Saturday with The Office and a bottle of a tequila...

Then get up at noon on Sunday...

You're gonna have a bad time.

You'll have less time on Sunday since you got up late.

Plus, you'll be less productive with the time you DO have since you don't feel good.

Trust me, nothing kills productivity like a hangover.

I'm not saying not to have fun.

I'm not a hustler or a guru. I don't have a seething hatred of Netflix like most of the people on this side of Twitter.

I'm saying if you're a little more responsible with your weekend fun...

You'll have better (and less scary) Sundays.

Try those two tips out for the next few weeks!

I promise your Sunday Scaries will disappear.

By the way, I wrote about this in my newsletter this morning!
