The CCTV footage of Mum’s falls is really harrowing. There were gasps in the court when it was shown. Our family felt it was important for the world to see what happened to her. Trigger warning #JusticeforTanyaDay theguardian.com/australia-news…

I’ve also provided a detailed thread describing the footage for those who prefer not to watch

•3.56pm. Mum enters police cell with four officers.
•3.59pm. Left in cell on her own to "sober up"

•4.20pm. Mum stood up and walks to cell door in an attempt to open it. She stumbles back and tries to sit on the bench but the mattress had moved. This is the 1st fall and hit to the back of her head while trying to lay back down

•4.44pm. 2nd fall. After trying to walk to sink inside the cell, mum falls back and hits her shoulder against wall. She then laid back down
•4.49pm. First check by two officers. One officer comes to cell window, looks in for three seconds- but doesn’t lift cell slot or blinds

•4.50pm. Seconds after they walk away, she gets up, stumbles, and falls forward where she hits her forehead hard on the wall. She tries to sit up but her right arm wouldn’t support her. This is the fall that causes her to suffer a severe brain bleed.

She sat up briefly before laying back down and hitting the right side of her head. Once laying down she’s seen to be rub her head. This fall allegedly wasn’t seen by watch house keeper

4.51. The watch house keeper makes an observation recording that he assessed mum and observed her at level 3 and had received a verbal response (note thats 1 minute after a traumatic head injury)

•5.03pm. 4th fall. She is holding her right arm, which can be seen on CCTV to have no movement. She falls backwards and hits her head on the wall as she lowered herself back on the bench. Again allegedly unwitnessed by watch house keeper

•5.09pm-5.28pm. She tries to get up, but can’t move her right arm.
•5.33pm. 2nd check by one officer, who looks through cell window for three seconds before walking away.
•5.40-5.48. CCTV shows mum trying to sit up several times. Her right arm appears limp and behind her back

•6.38pm. 5th fall, from the bench onto the floor where she hits back of her head. Tries to sit up but can’t. She can't use the right side of her body. She tries to pull the blanket over her head. Mum doesn’t get up again

•6.42pm. Third check. She is still lying on floor with a blanket over head

8.03pm. Police enter cell after a call was made our brother was picking her up. They notice a bruise on her forehead and lift her onto the bench. An ambulance is called.
