Q. What happened to Chaosnet?
A. A node operator tricked the network to credit them 2x their bonded RUNE

Q. Were funds drained?
A. 38,812 RUNE was siphoned from the reserve. No staker funds were lost. The 38k RUNE will be added back to the reserve.

Q. Are my funds safe?
A. Yes your funds are safe, the exploit was limited to 2x the node operators bond. The team are not aware of any other attack vector at this time.

Q. When will the network be live again?
A. The network will be live once the fix has been released & node operators have updated their nodes. If majority nodes update as early as a few hours.

Q. What's the plan now?
A. Engineers are working on a fix (build/test) and will then request node operators to update their nodes. Once majority nodes update their software the network will be live. The issue will be patched and BEPSwap will be online.

Q. Do we know who the attacker is? What action is being taken?
A. The team has been in contact with the attacker and considers the $33k RUNE a sufficient bounty for discovering the issue. No further action is required.

A. The risks associated with Chaosnet were outlined on launch and the team have reinforced this point every day.

Chaosnet is designed to be attacked, was fully expected to be attacked and will likely be attacked again. You should consider the risks before you use Chaosnet. If you can't afford to lose your assets don't participate.
