Question. Have any of you successfully grown a baobab tree in Joburg or seen one in Jozi?
In my seed shopping spree I included a few baobab seeds as well. Dawned on me this morning that I've never seen one in Jozi...besides as bonsai
Also got some acacia seeds coz they remind me of the bush and Limpopo. Apparently growing acacias is easy as pie, they become fully grown trees in just 20yrs and they look good whatever garden design you have (bushy, grassy or minimalist)...problem is their deep roots. 😓
Wanted an awning but I have old skeletons from my old static gazebos. Wanted a creeping plant to climb them. Decided to get hops seeds for that. If you give them enough leverage and support they creep like this...
And yes, I'm gonna use them to try brew things at some point 😁
Got loads of other seeds. Sowing them in germination trays tomorrow. Will list them as well and do a time lapse of the changes to my garden over the next few months. 😁
Oh, a few weeks ago I asked if you knew nurseries that sell medium and fully grown trees. Drove around visiting the places yall suggested. Best place I found (and they deliver the plants to you via truck if you need) is Nicola's Plants in Northriding, near the dome. It's huge
Baobab bonsai trees. Hmmm🤔🤔
