This was the scene that actually got me interested in the movie; Umi and Ruka's first meeting.

I found it funny that dugongs and manatees were inspiration for stories about mermaids.

This is one of those gorgeous "What the heck did I just watch" films. I think I got the gist of what was going on...but I feel like I was missing so much. It's a good movie that requires multiple viewings I guess.
I went into this one thinking this was going to be similar to NagiAsu, and in some way it is, but own the whole, this film is it's own creation--it's own crazy, confusing animal. Would I watch it again? Maybe. But probably not, unless I watched it with somebody. #ChildrenoftheSea
I thought so! We get an epilogue!
Oh, looks like Ruka's mom and dad got back together...and it looks like Ruka got a new little sibling too. #ChildrenoftheSea
