NEW: LA County Sheriff Alex Villanueva is at the South LA LASD station, where a 3rd night of protests are expected at 630pm. He said they made 13 arrests last night, many of which he says were out of state agitators looking to incite a riot after pipes & bottles thrown. @FOXLA

He says LASD will not allow any protesters near their station and that any agitators looking to start violence will see a swift response from deputies. Streets all blocked off in the area. Multiple specialized Sheriff’s Response Teams (SRT) mobilizing here. @FOXLA

Lots of LASD resources and SRT teams staging here to defend the station. So far, very minimal amount of protesters on scene. We will see what happens after dark. @FOXLA

So far it’s only scattered protesters yelling at LASD deputies about deputy tattoos regarding allegations that deputy gangs have operated at different LASD stations. @FOXLA

The nearby El Pollo Loco has decided to start boarding up. @FOXLA

Protesters here at the South LA Sheriff’s station chanting: “Every city, every town, burn the precincts to the ground.”
Also chanting all cops are bastards, pigs, Fu*k 12, calling deputies “pussies”, and chanting “no cops, no prisons, total abolition.” @FOXLA

Deputies believe they saw people in the crowd organizing projectiles to start throwing from behind a dumpster so they are clearing the area. Other protesters creating a wall with boogey boards and cardboard boxes. @FOXLA

Sheriff Villanueva is still out here observing the protests. Tensions rising but nothing has happened yet other than constant shouting. LASD keeping an eye out for any thrown projectiles. @FOXLA

Man with the ACAB shield keeps touching the LASD barricade despite repeated warnings not to. Continues shouting at them trying to get a response. @FOXLA

LASD just moved in to confiscate a shopping cart and a metal sign protesters were setting up as a barricade. I’ll be live at 10 from here @FOXLA
