Someone once remarked the Shiv is the most controversial god in the Hindu Pantheon.
He consumes poison and does not die.
He has as a representative symbol his penis stuck in a vagina that is irrigated through out the day with milk and water. He sits atop a mountain. He dances the cosmic dance and when he does, he brings about total destruction (sometimes of the entire universe) thus
treating all that reside on earth, irrespective of their karma to the same fate. He has a third eye which sees more than others and if opened in anger burns the subject who comes in the line of sight. He has serpents wound around his neck. He fornicates.
He kills in anger, without thought. He consumes intoxicants and smokes pot. He chews intoxicants.
Among all gods he is the most feared. But he is still a god!
Among all gods he does so many things that are prohibited but he does all this with aplomb. And nobody dare insult him.
Many humans ape his lifestyle, especially those who have quit the material world. They live in a trance. And care a fuck for the world.
If it was not blasphemy, one would call him a vagabond!
