When she announced the UK Government will make the case to update the WTO rule book in respect of industrial subsidies.
So this is another u-turn from @BorisJohnson.
But there is a bit of wriggle room in the announcement by @AlokSharma_RDG...
Namely that the UK shall also apply “any commitments on subsidies agreed through the UK’s free trade agreements”.
There are good reasons for the UK to have a robust State aid regime, even in a no deal scenario.
The simpler, more orderly approach to lifting Article 10 of the Northern Ireland Protocol would have started with the Government publishing a meaningful UK State aid regime...
