One day, if we to have even the slightest chance of becoming a decent country again, we will have to stop believing every bullshit lie that comes from this government. So 1)if you break a treaty that you once negotiated, signed, and praised YOU are the one acting in ‘bad faith’
2) If you do this you are not merely deciding and upholding national law, you are breaking international law and it doesn’t matter if you merely do this in a ‘limited defined way’ any more than it would matter if I threw a brick through a shop window in a limited defined way!
3) The fact that this possibility has even been raised merely demonstrates how far this government has moved from decency and truth, and allowed its parliamentary to go to its head, and smoked Brexit crack. That is their problem, but it’s also ours because
4) The fact that they have done this proves not only that they are LYING now, but they were LYING last year when they signed off on the WA and then used that breakthrough to promise that they had an ‘oven ready deal’ that would ‘get Brexit done’.
5) In short, they grifted the nation then and now they are gaslighting us all by trying to make out that the EU’s ‘bad faith’ is responsible for their stunning arrogance and mendacity.
All this should be obvious, even to those who are supposedly on the government’s ‘side’
And the fact that for many people, it still isn’t, is further proof of our steep downward spiral.
