You know you chose the right guy when 10 years into your marriage, you can still stay up talking and dreaming until the sun comes up ❤️
A young journalist recently asked me what advice could I offer for forming a family? Here’s what I told her: Who you choose as your partner is probably the single most important decision you’ll make in your life. (I struggled in laughable & real ways before meeting my husband)
Choose a partner who:
When you’re at your smallest, your most vulnerable self, that person will be there to protect you and help build you back up.
When you’re at the top and you’re shining the brightest, that person will never feel eclipsed by you. They’ll cheer you on.
Choose a partner who:
Is willing to build a sacred circle with you that no one else can penetrate — not his mom, your mom, best friend, fulano, mengano, zutano.
People will be full of opinions about ur life, ur relationship, but it’s called CASADOS for a reason. A home for 2.
Choose a partner who:
Is committed to vacuum & cook; wash your dishes & your pantalones & spend hours trying to hunt down those purple socks & that purple cowboy that ur kid needs for her school performance.
Life with kids is crazy hard & already, far too much falls on mothers
Marriage can sometimes drive you crazy.
You’re gonna fight. You’re gonna get hurt & cause hurt.
When you argue, try with all your might to not scar each other ❤️
* cowboy HAT 🤠 It would take more than a few hours to track down a purple cowboy 😂
