Yoweri Museveni of Uganda is due to arrive in Tanzania to witness signature over the Hoima-Tanga Crude oil Pipeline deal & the Host Government Agreement between Total & Tanzania. He'll be received by President John Magufuli at Geita International Airport in Chato @StateHouseKenya

Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Ethiopia, South Sudan & DRC are slowly but surely weaning themselves off Kenya. The corruption in Kenya is unmatched anywhere else on earth. The cost of construction inflated by as much as 700% with most going to politicians & mandarins

Kenya or is it Kenyatta's #SGR is dead. Forcing freighters to use it won't save it. With the Tanzanian #SGR on schedule Uganda, Rwanda & Burundi will shift their cargo from transiting in Kenya to Tanzania, Tanga. A good number of Kenyan too may do the same & receive via Busia

If one is forced to load cargo on to Kenyatta SGR at their own arbitrary price like the Medical Equipment they are forcing on to counties, why would they not use Tanzania SGR which would ferry goods to Kampala. Trucks can then ferry the goods over land to say Nairobi.

@MagufuliJP & @KagutaMuseveni today in Chato, Tanzania have signed the Host Government Agreement (HGA) for the construction of the Crude Oil Pipeline project.

The 1,445KM Pipeline will transport crude oil from Uganda's oil fields to the Port of Tanga on the Indian Ocean.

Just remarking that @KagutaMuseveni is finally getting a tailor. He's not there yet but you can all see what a HUGE improvement the suit he's wearing is from the usual *¥€/=÷@
