OK, here's the story @Gidi_Traffic

1/12
On that evening, I was on a keke-bus from Elegushi to Ajah-Under bridge. When we got to Ilaje before the bridge, we heard a loud bash from behind, we all looked back and saw someone on the ground, right in the middle of the road. I then

2/12
stop there and observe the whole thing.

An aged woman driving an SUV was furiously stopped and accused of being responsible but shortly after, other eyewitnesses around and the bus behind her confirmed that she wasn't the one. Well by that time she was already hypertensive,

3/12
so the LASTMA there had a man drive her home. The accident apparently was a high speed hit-and-run.

I then moved towards where the victim was to see how he was doing, he bad been carried to the side of the road, laid down flat and completely unconscious. He was still

4/12
breathing obviously but unconscious and unresponsive with blood on mouth, nose and ground.

People had already gathered around him lamenting AND doing nothing, probably waiting for him to give up.
Quickly I dialed 112 and gave the location, said to be attended to. I wasn't

5/12
satisfied, this guy is dying. So I rushed to charter a keke-bus which was about to load nearby to convey to the nearest hospital.
Just then, a number called me from emergency service that the ambulance they hoped to dispatch from toll gate had to answer another call and that

6/12
we should please take the victim to the nearest hospital.

When no one opted to follow the bus including the LASTMA, I instantly decided to go. We carried him into the bus and as I entered, 2 other guys entered too; they were willing to join me. Honestly, I felt relieved.

On getting to the nearest hospital (I guess no need to name), they insisted on checking him up in the bus and fixed a drip (dunno the medical term) then referred us to Epe or Marina.

We soon thought to go to the ambulance at toll gate but before we got there, the emergency

8/12
guys who were still well in helpful phone contact with us asked that we go to General hospital Marina.

The bus driver hesitated a little but cooperated so well. We got there there and again, they insisted on checking from the bus and then said with the head injury, they

9/12
can't attend to him. OK then, we were instructed here by Lagos State Emergency service to hand over to the hospital and ambulance bus service which they both confirmed that they were contacted.

We sha spent over 2 hours there asking for a way forward, with the guy still in

10/12
the bus unconscious but now moving his hands weakly and at some point, having seizures.

Much later, they then agreed to take him in, asked that we dropped some money for injections, more drips and the rest. I gave some money supported by one of the other guys.

Again, much relief, it could have gone south and we'd be implicated.

We got back to Ajah around 11:20pm.
The driver said he lives at Ogombo, one guy at Abraham Adesanya and the other Epe who had to stay the night at my place in Badore.

It was a stressful long night but...

12/12
yes, I made a move and saved a life.

I couldn't take any picture/video but I recall the LASTMA took a picture of the victim at the accident scene. The driver also took a picture while at Marina General Hospital, I believe to show as proof for returning home late.
The end.
