Spurs under Mourinho are one of the most uninspiring teams to watch. So if you do have them in your team (I do), I would give them a couple more games AT MOST (jump to last tweet if you want to know why)

Moving on to the match, the usual set up by Spurs where the right-back got the freedom to venture forward at will and Everton exploited that wonderfully (often aided by Spurs themselves) Take for example this Richarlison chance, that came from a misplaced pass.

Doherty and the center-back leave acres of space for Richarlison to move into to take a shot which he ultimately misses.
Minute 25' once again sees Doherty pushed up leaving space that Everton exploit

Do remember this is not down to Doherty being bad positionally and clearly Spurs have made this sacrifice to ensure he gets chances/creates chances at the other end of the pitch.

This comes later with a pass and move play which allows Doherty to take a shot, their best chance.

Coming onto players that really impressed me, DCL is *not* one of them.

Limited involvement and had no shots except the goal he scored till about the 83rd minute. However, the jump for the goal is truly amazing and a green fixture run should warrant him a spot on your watchlist

- Richarlison single-handedly was responsible for 7 of the 15 shots Everton took the entire match (46%)
- 5 of the 7 shots for Richarlison came from a pass that was delivered by James Rodriguez

Alli's "tactical" sub as stated by Mourinho clearly did not work since Spurs looked worse in the second half and took even lesser shots despite trailing for most of the second half. Unbelievable lack of urgency by the team.

I expect him to be back in the XI next week.

What worries me about Spurs is the lack of effort by the center backs while defending the goal. A Mourinho team not putting effort is when you know there is a problem.

The second thing that put me off was this paragraph from The Athletic, which highlights the lack of goals โคต๏ธ
