He has been awarded w Police Medal for Gallantry 4 times, making him the 2nd IPS after Rajesh Kumar Pandey to get the honour. While in his home cadre/state- Uttar Pradesh, he has led, in the past, numerous encounters & gunned down many dreaded gangsters
Some of the dreaded gangster killed by Chaudhary led SOG teams are Salim Gujjar, Rajjan Gujjar and Lovely Pandey. He holds a record of gunning down 32 gangsters in just 1.5 years, when he held the post of SSP Etah
Just a correction - there are 3 IPS officers in my knowledge who have bagged Police medal for Gallantry 4 times - Rajesh Kumar Pandey, Daljit Chaudhary and Vijay Bhushan. Fun fact, the trio is from the same cadre ie. Uttar Pradesh
One more correction - He was SSP Etawah (Bordering MP) and not Etah when he used to lead SOG teams into the riverines to hunt down dacoits
