This is a very common retaliation against undocumented people who speak out against sexual assaults and harassment, and it hides decades of horrors.

These are people who, in the eyes of the USA, essentially do not exist. There is no repercussion for destroying their lives.

If you don't think horrible people didn't figure that out a long time ago, then you haven't been paying attention. They always do.

Last month:

This is a documented pattern. Has been as long as I've been alive. Anyone who rocks the boat gets deported.

That is why it's so difficult to get people without documentation who have been horrifically abused (physically, emotionally, sexually, financially, medically, etc.) to speak on the record. That terror never leaves you. They fear for themselves and for their loved ones.

Convenient, isn't it, to have a whole underclass of workers who you can just banish from the country when they start to demand basic human rights and dignity, who you can motivate to work until they literally drop dead with that fear?

I don't think a lot of Americans understand what it means to be undocumented, to live with that fear. People hunt you for fun, because what's one more dead "illegal" in the eyes of the law, right?

And you don't believe that people are getting sterilized without their consent?

Shit man, progressive commie liberal California didn't ban enforced sterilization of women in prison until 2014. That is only six years ago. This is not settled history. And refugees and asylum-seekers are confined to facilities that have even less oversight than most prisons.

Many have no birth certificates, no passports, no paperwork from any country to identify them -- whether they never had them or lost them along the way. No money. No credit cards. Again, in the eyes of the USA, they do not exist. No one protects them. No one.
