Midway upon the journey of our life   I found myself within a forest dark...★ Journalist, Writer & Traveller

So I've mentioned that a British fascist group called Patriotic Alliance are putting out their own home schooling curriculum. I've finally managed to look at it and well, buckle up... /1

The first document on offer is titled 'Be Proud Of Your People' and promises parents and kids activities to inspire pride in 'British and European peoples'.

For some reason, it kicks off with a description of Black Lives Matter (?) as a Soros-funded Marxist organisation. /2

Then, when suggesting activities to highlight the achievements of British ancestors, they encourage the discussion of the 'true intentions of BLM' that can be found at the beginning of the document (?) /3.

The document suggests parents show kids videos by Laura Towler & Mark Collett, the two figureheads of the movement.

For those of you new to observing the British Far Right, Laura Towler edited the racist 'Defend Evropa' and Mark Collett has described himself as a Neo-Nazi. /4

An article supposedly celebrating the great British/European tradition of heroic poetry ends up talking about 'unchecked floods of outsiders' and how 'honour, kindness and acceptance has also been our weakness'. /5

The next few pages talk about how great pre-Raphaelite painters are, how beautiful the British countryside is, and the beauty of folk music. Fair enough, until you come across lines that wouldn't seem out of line in Jihadist material. /6

There's some seriously historically dubious stuff in the article discussing British engineering... /7

Way more historically dubious, and really rather sketchy is the text that ends the document.

(I'm not even going to dwell on the 'OK' sign.) /8

Along with some historically dubious language - 'barbarian invaders', 'ride in and destroy everything' - there's a really sinister subtext to this PowerPoint on the 'End of the Classical World'. /9

...and that's about it. Everything else they've put up is taken from elsewhere. The only stuff that Patriotic Alternative has come up with, are those with a specific ideological edge, bordering on extremism - cf. 'fighting for her land', 'kindness has been our weakness'. /10

It's supremely dodgy stuff. They're definitely playing safe, but there's enough poking through that the same PA folks would be howling if similar materials turned up in an Islamic or Jewish school. /11

Now, Patriotic Alternative are claiming that these materials were created by teachers.

If they were, they're in breach of the Teaching Standards. /12

If you're in the UK, and you think that this constitutes an attempt to radicalise, you can report this material to the police. /FIN ltai.info
