i am Very Intrigued by Final Fantasy XVI. it's got the game design director of dragon's dogma! it looks like it might have a Lone Protagonist! its story appears to span many years! it's got some witcher-y medieval stylisms, and baroque-ish FFVI nostalgia-baiting. how neat!
i hope its (action?) combat is as good as that in The FFVII Remake. and seriously it sorta blows my mind that they've gone back to dudes-sayin-milord-style capital-F Fantasy in a mainline singleplayer FF game since, what . . . IX? (XII had too many star wars lasers)
wow . . . either i should stream more, or sony should have more playstation events . . . or both? i'm getting bigger numbers these days than i was getting back on kotaku's channel . . . twitch, you should partner me!!

more on final fantasy xvi: it looks, as @wesleyfenlon said, like a Matsuno Game. obviously not an Actual Matsuno Game, though somehow More Matsuno Than Matsuno. some Serious Dark Hard Old Stuff bubbling up out of like, Ogre Battle / Vagrant Story Times
i love that they just flopped this trailer at the very beginning of the playstation 5 stream and walked away. that's fun. also, wow: is being excited because a game looks Bland Enough a sign that i have Refined Taste, or that i'm Getting Old lmao
