I am not arguing for inclusion of more people of colour in a list of big moneymakers. But it is instructive to see who is 1st allowed into the hallowed club of white male moneymakers and to channel our energy into dismantling unjust systems, not demand they let in a handful of us.

As I argue in The Seven Necessary Sins for Women and Girls, my ambition is neither to be rich nor to see more women billionaires. I want to see the end of billionaires. feministgiant.substack.com/p/surviving-an…

It is imperative to channel our energy into dismantling unjust systems, not demanding they let in a handful of us - esp in a country like UK where Black people & people of colour are disproportionately impacted by poverty and where pandemic has exacerbated existing inequalities.

During the pandemic, billionaires have become richer while workers that are called “essential” and who most risk their lives during the pandemic to keep open an economy that does not serve them are the least valued. feministgiant.substack.com/p/surviving-an… 🎥 @rerutled

I am flagging the BBC top earners story because those four women and the six men with them on that list of top 10 earners are all white. Along with capitalism, racism is one of the tentacles of the octopus aka patriarchy. feministgiant.substack.com/p/surviving-an…

Govts around the world push children back to school so that they can push parents back to work during the worst global health crisis of our lifetime. Understanding that the pandemic is a fucking disaster for women around the world, read this about why UBI is a feminist issue:

“Bringing a feminist perspective to the basic income discussion foregrounds a distinct set of concerns and virtues of the proposal.” On women’s struggles in the UK to make the feminist case for a universal basic income. feministgiant.substack.com/p/surviving-an…
