Today, we’re sharing some precious memories of #KylieMooreGilbert from Jenny, one of Kylie’s former teachers in #Bathurst

Along with her story, here's an early pic of Kylie, every inch the typical Aussie teenager 🥰 1/

“My first memory of Kylie dates to when their family moved in next door. She was sitting on the nature strip absorbed in a book-aged about 10. It turned out the Moore-Gilberts had also just arrived in Bathurst and…” 2/

“…our daughters were going into the same class at the same school. It seemed to take about 5 minutes for the girls to become great friends”. 3/

“Kylie and our daughter were great buddies. Reading tastes, teenage adventures, shoulders to giggle on and cry on. They grew and changed and became their own identities but always, those early days of their friendship echo for me” 4/

“I last saw Kylie at a mutual friend's wedding and it was a beautiful experience to hear her story as she'd progressed. She is an extraordinary, sensitive young woman and her passion for Middle Eastern Studies is inspiring” 5/

“As a teacher at her school I recall Kylie's standout ability in multiple disciplines. She was an exceptional artist, academically brilliant, measured and insightful” 6/

“Kylie called up to see me for a cuppa maybe about 4 years back while she was briefly in Bathurst. It was great to sit with her and listen to her wonderful journey; to see the person she had become” 7/

“Kylie's personal story, and her family's is one of exceptionally hard work, resilience and a deep understanding of the value of education. Beautiful people, beautiful young woman. I think those of us who know them feel deeply for her and her family.” 8/

We couldn't agree more, Jenny. Kylie is a wonderful, caring person, and she and her family deserve better.

Help us share Kylie's story so that we can remind the Australian government that they must live up to their own rhetoric and bring her home, now.
