1/ 2 points about Bill Barr:
(1) His particular evil is necessary to identify. It's the Dick Cheney school of "have low, measured voice plus a serious, still-faced demeanor, yet say criminal/reactionary things. It works way too often in DC. Pence has this toolbox, too.
2/ (2) This measured sober demeanor makes him sound confident even when he's panicking. And he is freaking out, I assure you.
Again, compare him to Cheney - who, I'll remind everyone, got AWAY with his crimes. Dick sold the country on the IraqWarForOil (TM) enterprise
3/ Cheney was the motivator for the W Bush foreign policy atrocities. And he just walked off into the sunset of respectability. But he never sounded panicky.
Barr OTOH is doing overtly fascist actions and *saying crazy things* - like his speech yesterday
4/ It's easy to be duped by his sober demeanor. His type is often a trope in fiction of the corrupt boss who allows the flamboyant rampaging abuser to run amok. Think of the warden in Shawshank. They always act like they're in control b/c that's their whole con/shtick.
5/ But Barr is too open with the criminality & absurdity. And that shows he's out of options. He probably has an escape plan (UAE?), but there's not so many options if Biden wins.
His desperation, tho, doesn't mean he has the election rigged. It means the opposite. He's scared!

7/ See it? He's talking about his lust to prosecute his political enemies while decrying that his enemies have legal power to go after people like him. That's the tell: he's setting the stage to describe his actions as Just but he's actually just frightened of it happening to him
8/ He's doing the Cheney thing: being all serious looking while saying insane fascist lunacy. Yet the subject is how he is desperate to stock the judiciary & DOJ with loyalists b/c he's soon out on the street, and that's his only escape plan
