Exclusive: Hospitals have been banned from launching their own coronavirus testing for staff and patients: independent.co.uk/news/health/co…

Leaked documents show the @DHSCgovuk has now imposed a cap on the level of funding to pay for Covid testing in the NHS.

In short hospitals who do their own testing without approval of the Test and Trace service wont get paid.

Staggering at a time when Test and Trace cannot meet national demand for testing and some hospitals say they can do their own local testing and have staff stuck at home unable to get tests

So much for @RishiSunak promise that the NHS would get whatever it needed...a cap on testing funding doesnt seem to fit that ambition.

Here is the extract from the guidance sent out by @NHSEngland to hospitals...clearly references a cap on test funding and no new testing without approval.
