I cannot describe how surreal it is to watch President Trump give his generic rally speech tonight in Minnesota. Meanwhile the entire political earth has shifted under his feet while he’s been on stage, and he has no idea.

Trump is telling a story about the Battle of Gettysburg and someone in the crowd just yelled “Ginsburg just died!” The crowd near the shouter has hushed. The President didn’t appear to hear it.

The President may be the only person, among thousands here, who doesn’t know.

Now he’s shouting out Mike Lindell, the My Pillow guy, who is in the audience, as some of the crowd is starting to trickle towards the exits.

Now he’s polling the audience: Sleepy Joe or Slow Joe?

Lots of folks are leaving.

Now: Ruminating on his belief that Sean Hannity or Lou Dobbs should have won the Pulitzer Prize.

More in the crowd are streaming towards the exit.

The rally ends with the President dancing/shuffling and clapping along to the Village People’s “YMCA” as the crowd departs. Totally surreal.

The rally tonight felt like the perfect inverse of Barack Obama being the only person at the White House correspondent’s dinner to know he had ordered the Bin Laden raid.
