Good Morning Gembrook!
Gembrook terminal station on the VR narrow gauge (2' 6" gauge) railway from Upper Ferntree Gully. Opened 1900 closed 1954. Subsequently re-opened 1998 Puffing Billy Railway - Belgrave to Gembrook.

Gembrook yard had a number of timber tramway connections. The tramways varied over the years but they allowed transfer of timber to the VR goods trucks. Tramways were 3' 6" or 3' gauge.

Note the NA is a compound. Loco is NA 4A built Newport June 1900. The other compound VR NA was 2A.

The line to Gembrook was closed in 1953 as a result of a landslide. The line officially reopened on Sunday 18 October 1998, a magnificent effort.
