So ten years ago, when I was awarded the prestigious Alexander von Humboldt @AvHStiftung for postdoctoral research in Germany, I jumped at the chance π #themissuniversemoment π
I spent a couple of amazing years doing research at @UniHeidelberg, a German Excellence University and also its oldest π€π°
My workplace was the Institut fΓΌr Theoretische Physik on 16, Philosophenweg (Philosopher's walk) (private house of Nobel prize winning nuclear physicist Hans Jensen) with a breathtaking view of the Altstadt (old town) π
Following my postdoc, I returned to Frankfurt for a few months as a guest researcher @fias_science, growing close ties with @FAIR_GSI_en Heavy ion facility in Darmstadt (I will explain later how this helped me) π
I was running out of options for research funds in Germany π° But by now I had grown a sizeable network in Europe (& beyond). So what did I do next? Find out in the next post π
