I wanted to post some thoughts on the @MaryWash debate last night between @QasimRashid and @RobWittman in the 1st congressional district here in VA. I have been a resident of this district since 2003 & this is truly an election like no other for this district & our country. 1/
For yrs, I have longed for a strong Dem candidate that understands their constituents concerns & could challenge our Rep whom has deflected on issues since taking office in 2007. The 'I wills' & 'plan tos' heard yr after yr made me lose hope at ever having my voice heard. 2/
Our diverse district includes large densely populated counties to rural areas of the Northern Neck. Our concerns range from environmental protections, access to healthcare & mental health services, rural broadband access, protections for seniors & K-12 education/funding. 3/
For the first time since becoming a resident of this district, I am truly excited & hopeful about the Dem candidate for the 2020 election, @QasimRashid. His work as a human rights attorney & advocate is one of many reasons I believe he will put his constituents first. 4/
He has addressed each & every issue I believe are important for our community as I have listed above, plus several others outlined on his site. I believe he will fight for the 1st & not back down even if it means breaking with party to do what's best for his constituents. 5/
If you have not watched the debate, I highly recommend you do so, esp if you are still undecided. See link below. If you are unfamiliar with @QasimRashid, I believe you will be more than pleased with his performance & stance on district issues. 6/

I believe @QasimRashid is EXACTLY the candidate VA's 1st district needs to represent our community & I pledge my vote to him.
