We’ve officially passed the halfway mark of the 2020 #MotoGP season! 👏

Here’s a few tweets which show why this season is the craziest one we’ve ever had 🤯

2020 and its ridiculous storylines in a megathread (this one’s a long one) 👇

After the unexpected break, the waiting was finally over, it was time to get underway! 🙌

With empty grandstands, #MotoGP fans watched on at home as the lights went out 🚦

5 laps! Just 5 laps is all it took for the chaos and drama to begin! 👀

@marcmarquez93 defying physics at Turn 4! But what followed was even more special

The World Champion’s charge through the field was possibly one of the greatest feats of motorcycle racing that will ever exist

Charging through the field, he consistently lapped faster than all. Maneuverer after maneuverer, the jaws of motorcycle racing fans fell to the floor

But then… the unthinkable

A mammoth crash that put a halt to @marcmarquez93’s season! 💥

But one man remained composed throughout it all 😎

@FabioQ20, the man that so often challenged Marc Marquez in 2019, had FINALLY taken his first-ever premier class victory! 🏆

At the complete other end of the career spectrum

41-year-old @ValeYellow46 landed himself on the podium and in true Rossi style, he celebrated accordingly with the empty grandstands 😂

Roll on Jerez… again! ✌️

History was made as for the first time ever, #MotoGP would have back-to-back races at the same circuit in the same season!

Just 6 days on from breaking his right arm, Marc Marquez returned 🤯

In gladiatorial scenes, the World Champion climbed aboard his RC213V

But as we all now know. It was too much too soon

The gateway opened for the young stars to take a shot at the crown! 👑

Fortune was not on @PeccoBagnaia’s side as he was robbed of a maiden podium just 5 laps from home 😢

But fortune certainly favoured the brave @Rins42!

After a huge crash the week prior Rins rode to an incredible 10th place with practically one arm! 💪

2 for 2! Quartararo did it again! ✌️

Was this the new World Champion in waiting?

Brno was up next 🇨🇿

Take a seat… this is where 2020 steps it up a gear 💨

🇿🇦 @BradBinder_41 became South Africa’s newest sporting hero! 🇿🇦

✅ First rookie winner since Marc Marquez
✅ First premier class win for KTM
✅ First premier class win for South Africa

The storylines didn’t stop there!

@JohannZarco1 took @esponsoramagp’s first-ever #MotoGP pole position and then converted that to a podium! (along with coolest long lap ever) 😎

And @FrankyMorbido12, the coolest man in the paddock, claimed his first premier class podium too

The #AustrianGP was quite a ride for @AndreaDovizioso and Ducati 👀

The news broke that the pairing that took 2nd in the world 3 times, would no longer be together 💔

But it set up one of the most incredible storylines of 2020 so far

Read into this GIF how you want

All we know is that Dovizioso’s win on that Sunday in Austria was one that defied the odds 🥇

But the biggest thing of the #AustrianGP was the crash

A miracle that everyone came away relatively unhurt ✨

This one speaks for itself…

At the second race in Austria, it was all about @_moliveira88! 🏆

Portugal’s first-ever premier class winner! 🇵🇹

Just epic! One of the greatest final corners in #MotoGP history! ⚔️

The scenes in this gif! 🤣

When you’ve waited 20 years for a premier class win!

Welcome to the club @Tech3Racing! 👏

Onwards to Misano and the magic that awaited! 🙌

A teacher celebrating with his pupil!

@FrankyMorbido12 took his first-ever #MotoGP victory to become the 4th maiden winner in 2020

And he did it in front of the home fans! ❤️

No podium heartbreak for @PeccoBagnaia and @JoanMirOfficial musters up some Misano magic!

A maiden #MotoGP podium for Bagnaia and a 2nd one for Mir as he went from P5 to P3 on the final lap to steal a podium from The Doctor! 🥈🥉

And so to the most recent round, it’s been a mental ride up to this point 🎢

Injuries, return-ride heroics and edge-of-your-seat drama

Surely it couldn’t get any crazier? 👀

Bagnaia seemed nailed on for a maiden #MotoGP win!

But fortunes change in the blink of an eye in motorcycle racing 🔄

From hero to zero before you could even process it!

Return of the Mack!

@mvkoficial12 was back and he silenced the critics and oh boy did it throw a spanner in the works! 👊

So here we are then. The midway point of the 2020 #MotoGP season and we’re less sure of who is going to win than when we started! 🤷

Just 4 points separate the top 4 in the Championship 🤯

Dovizioso: 84 points – Finished 8th, 7th and 5th in the last 3 races

Quartararo: 83 points – Hasn’t been on the podium since Round 2

Vinales: 83 points – Scored just 18 points in 4 races from Brno to Misano 1

Mir: 80 points – Scored more points than anyone in the last 4 races

33 tweets later, you can why it’s a season the likes of which we have never seen before 🙌

It will undoubtedly go down in history as one of #MotoGP’s greatest years…

and we’re only halfway through 😎
