We have an open festering wound in this Country & it's called white nationalism. Until our leaders acknowledge this & the fact that we've had this open wound since before our Country was even founded, nothing will fundamentally change. 1/

While I am voting for Biden, I know that that will not fix this open wound called white nationalism. Our leaders need to acknowledge this wound exists & they need to pay some form of restitution whether it be reparations or something else! 2/

We need to hold our judges, District Attorneys & the DOJ accountable for NOT indicting Police who deserve, like with Eric Garner & Michael Brown. Voting alone won't work! We need to be in the streets demanding change. 3/

My concern with Joe Biden being elected is that most white moderates are just going to go back to sleep, thinking that putting a bandaid on an open wound is the solution. Biden is just a bandaid. We need to go to surgery on this open wound called white nationalism. 4/

Voting is NOT enough! Voter suppression is one symptom of this open wound. We have to fundamentally change our entire system to work for us instead of against us. How do we do that? Honestly I don't know. But we can't just keep going with the status quo. 5/

I do know that we can't just keep putting bandaids over this open festering wound, hoping that it will get better. The soul of this nation is at stake. If Biden is elected, we can't just go back to sleep. 6/

What we need to remember is that Eric Garner & Michael Brown's deaths happened under Obama. They got off, Under Obama. Standing Rock happened under Obama. Flint water crisis started under Obama & he even tried to deceive them into thinking the water was okay. 7/

If we think police murdering black & brown people is going to just stop under Biden, we are fooling ourselves. We need to either uproot the system that keeps a wound open for over 250 years or we need to get the system to go to surgery on that wound. I don't see any other way. 8/

I vow not to be the white moderate who just goes back to sleep under a Biden administration. I won't stop organizing, demanding basic human rights, standing up to the climate crisis, or protesting against systemic oppression.
