@antiwar011 @MiraiMirain @caitoz Not really.
I am making the implied point that the system is seriously broken. Trump has pushed it to the breaking point. What happens next is consequential & fundamental.
Tr is no answer to the problem, but has used the problem to destroy any ability to actually address much
@antiwar011 @MiraiMirain @caitoz 2/ fix the deep problems we have. If you do not understand this, that
a) in the present tense there are only two power centers at the national level.
b) one is daily working to dismantle the ability to have a functioning democracy, the other is not.
@antiwar011 @MiraiMirain @caitoz 3/ As such any effort that supports Trump for any reason is essentially a vote for Trump. If Trump(ism) is to be resisted there is no other force other than the Democratic Party ....At this point in time.
If you need to consider what Tr has done to protesters already...not only
@antiwar011 @MiraiMirain @caitoz 4/ in sending out the military and other forces, but the promise to do more and with more draconian actions... Under what possible scenario do you think that if Tr regains power, and is reinstantiated and essentially validated in his use of power, along with tearing down the
@antiwar011 @MiraiMirain @caitoz 5/ foundational structures of, for example, Rule of Law... If he is validated in his ideas/positions re these matters what do you suppose will happen post election at the next protest?
He has already told us. "I will send out the military and crush it in 5minutes."
@antiwar011 @MiraiMirain @caitoz 6/ My argument to you, to the original post, to all who think there is no difference , nothing more than the same thing , is to say you are not paying attention to reality.
Our political system at large is broken. Maybe hopelessly so. We'll find out. If Trump is reelected,
@antiwar011 @MiraiMirain @caitoz 7/ however it happens: through people like yourselves declining to participate, thinking it makes no difference because "its all hellbound", or through voter suppression, or Russian tampering or any reason whatsoever...
@antiwar011 @MiraiMirain @caitoz 8/ If Trump wins we will have slipped a little closer to the pattern of all authoritarian takeovers.
They are elected, and then dismantle the function of elections and democracy entirely.
If you are unaware of this let me know, I'll detail it for you.
Or study @TimothyDSnyder
@antiwar011 @MiraiMirain @caitoz 9/ I responded in detail to another version of this retort that I simply am being contradictory.

@antiwar011 @MiraiMirain @caitoz 10/ Read more of my actual posts, instead of simple accusations, here. I think you'll find that at the level of issues we may not be so far apart as the particular issue of what do to about it might seem.

@antiwar011 @MiraiMirain @caitoz 11/ This for sure. There are no easy answers. And all the answers that present are fraught with uncertainty... and now are seeming to lead to increased violence, no matter the outcome.
This also is part of the pattern of authoritarian take over of a democracy.
That is my point.
