Ok. Bear with me here. I spoke with elections officials in two counties today who say they’re getting inundated with calls tied back to Box number 7 on the mail-in ballot application form.
Question 7 asks if you'd like to automatically receive mail-in ballots for the rest of the year.
Armstrong County elections officials say, people forgot if they checked it or not.
As a result, two things are happening that's confusing voters.

1.) Voters are confused why they're getting a mail-in ballot for November, but didn't request one. Long and short: If you applied for one in the June primary AND checked Box 7, then you're automatically going to to get sent a mail-in ballot for the November general.
Officials say it's getting too late to cancel those ballots. BEST thing to do is hang on to ALL THREE COMPONENTS of the mail-in: Ballot+Secrecy Envelope+Outer Envelope, take all three to precinct on election day, surrender to officials, who will destroy and then let you vote.
2.) Second issue- People are getting their mail-in ballot requests DENIED bc it's a duplicate.
IF you checked box 7 for primary, YOU DON'T NEED TO REAPPLY for another mail-in ballot.

3rd parties don't know whether a voter checked box 7 in June. Sent mailers to voters to sign up for mail-in ballot.
Again, if you checked Box 7 for the primary, you didn't have to reapply for November.
I'm told this means system is working: 1 person, 1 application, 1 vote.

Take care of as much as you can as early as you can and read the directions on your mail-in ballot.
