Asked about that this week, Rubio said: "Here's the bottom line: if the President nominates someone as he is allowed to do, and they put someone up that I support, I'm not going to vote against the judges I support. It's as simple as that."

Tillis and Cornyn in ‘16 said it was about “the principle” in letting voters decide direction of the court. Asked about the comments this week, both said it was actually about Obama being a lame-duck. Others, like Perdue, wouldn’t comment multiple times about their 2016 positions
