Thread: Big News!Police files chargesheet against Sasikala's brother Sundaravadanam 4 grabbing land of a farmer in Thanjavur. Magistrate court has issued a non bailable warrant last week. @Arappor had exposed this landgrab in 2017 & been supporting d family to get their land back

Farmers Manoharan and his wife Valarmathi had a farm for 4.84 acres in Rajendraarcot village, Thiruvaiyaru Taluk, Thanjavur Dist. The farm had 460 Cocunut trees, 63 mango trees, 60 teek trees, 6 jack fruit trees and few other types of trees. Decided to sell land in 2008.

They decided to sell his land to Raja Timber Depot for Rs 65 lakhs and got an advance of Rs 15 lakhs in 2008. Once Sasikala’s brother came to know about this, he sends his henchmen to threaten the farmers that they should not sell the land to anyone.

Soon after, Raja Timber comes and gets back his 15 lakhs advance. On 4/12/2008, T.V.Sundaravadanam’s henchmen Justin Abraham and others comes to the farmers house and takes their entire family to Sundaravadanam’s house.

There they were threatened to sign the document keeping their sons captive. Immediately they were taken to the registrar office, and document for 3.9 acres out of 4.84 acres was registered in the name of T.V.Sundaravadanam for Rs 6.5 lakhs.

Ever since, the farmer has been struggling to get action taken. The then RDO had also passed orders in 2014 that the patta change in the name of Sundaravadanam is invalid and FIR was filed on T.V. Sundaravadanam and others in 2015 after the farmer knocked the doors of the court.

Again after knocking the doors of the court several times, Chargesheet was filed on T.V. Sundaravadanam and others recently and a non bailable warrant has been issued this month against him and 10 others. However, police has still not arrested them.

Even after several followups of the farmer & Arappor Iyakkam, patta cancellation & restoration of the land back to the farmer has not happened showing the heavy nexus. Is the police saying that Sasikala’s brother has absconded or are the police still in nexus with the family??

This is just one instance. There are several such instances of land grabbing. In Siruthavur, Jayalalitha, Sasikala & co had grabbed Govt ponds, Govt lands and pvt lands on which complaint was given to the DGP as well with evidences. Yet no action.

I really admire the fighting spirit of this farmer and we only played a small part in this on guiding and taking this issue to officials etc.This is the first step victory.Real victory will be Restoration of the land back to d farmer & Sasikala's brother & co getting convicted
